Who: The whole family
Transport: Private transfers by electric vehicle
Accommodation: Charming boutique hotels and eco-lodges
Welcome to the Dominican Republic! Our driver will meet you at Santo Domingo or Punta Cana airport, depending on your flight, in an electric vehicle. Head to your boutique hotel in the heart of Santo Domingo’s Colonial Zone: a 16th-century colonial building restored with respect for the historic center’s architectural heritage.
Check-in, free evening and dinner on your own.
You will find all our recommendations for dining and going out in Santo Domingo in your travel guide.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Colonial Zone is full of secrets that we invite you to discover by bike, the gentlest way to explore the first city of the New World. With a local guide, you will ride through its cobbled streets before following the Caribbean Sea along the Malecón.
Back to the hotel at the end of the day. Free evening and dinner.
Make the most of it and dance to the rhythm of bachata and merengue in the Colonial Zone’s bars.
Leave Santo Domingo with your private driver for Jarabacoa. Peaceful and green, the region is considered the capital of Dominican ecotourism, thanks to its protected national parks and its many outdoor activities.
You will settle into a mountain hotel by a river, committed to protecting its environment, where you can enjoy the calm and the fresh mountain air.
Optional: a stop on the way for a pottery workshop around the Muñeca sin cara, the faceless doll that symbolizes the island’s cultural diversity.
Dinner on your own.
Set off on a hike in the mountains of the Jarabacoa valley. With a local guide who will share his knowledge of the region, its wildlife and its plants, you will spend a few hours on preserved trails, enjoying the pure air of the Cordillera Central and the views that open up before you.
Back to the hotel for lunch and a free afternoon.
Discover the Saltos de Jimenoa, stunning waterfalls hidden at the end of little-known trails. Enjoy a swim in this unique setting before continuing to a coffee plantation: coffee is an iconic product of the Dominican Republic, grown here by small farmers.
Traditional lunch, then back to the hotel to enjoy the setting and the peace of the place.
We will share our favorite places for dinner in your travel guide.
Goodbye mountains: you are now heading to the Samaná peninsula, more precisely to El Valle, a village known for its unspoiled landscapes and perfect for a real digital detox.
On the way, stop at a cocoa plantation to discover the whole art of chocolate making, from harvesting the pod to the finished bar. You will leave with your own chocolate bar, made with your own hands.
Check in to an eco-lodge nestled in the jungle. Dinner available on site: the lodge’s restaurant cooks fruit and vegetables from its own garden.
After a short boat ride from El Valle beach, you will discover Playa Ermitaño, a wild paradise that can only be reached by sea. In its crystal-clear turquoise waters, enjoy an unforgettable snorkeling session among tropical fish and preserved coral.
After a barbecue lunch with your feet in the sand, return to your eco-lodge in the mid-afternoon. Free evening.
Immerse yourself in Dominican traditions during an authentic encounter in El Valle. Opening the doors of his small workshop, a local farmer shares his passionate, earth-friendly work growing coffee and cocoa.
You will taste a homemade hot chocolate made from the cocoa he harvests and processes himself, served with traditional coconut bread. A simple, genuine encounter, deeply rooted in the island’s land.
Free afternoon to enjoy the beaches of El Valle, within walking distance of the lodge.
