Get ready for a unique day discovering Santo Domingo off the beaten path with our French-speaking guide. From the Colonial Zone to Santo Domingo Este, you will explore all the secrets of the Dominican capital. Enjoy lunch at a Dominican restaurant where you will taste local specialties. Return to your boutique hotel in the evening, with a free night. Optionally, we can arrange a musical evening to discover Dominican dances like merengue and bachata.
Depart from Santo Domingo to Pedernales early in the morning with our driver and French-speaking guide. Enjoy the comfort of our vehicle to admire the changing landscape on your way to the southwestern Dominican Republic. Along the way, we will stop at a typical seaside restaurant for lunch. In the early afternoon, check in at your glamping hotel with your feet in the sand and enjoy a free afternoon at the beach. White sand, turquoise Caribbean Sea, and endless seashells await you. Dinner à la carte at the hotel’s restaurant and a beach campfire to end the day.
From your hotel, depart in the morning by boat to Bahia de Las Aguilas, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Enjoy a few hours on this paradisiacal beach, snorkeling with the equipment we provide. For lunch, our driver will take you to the typical village of Pedernales to be close to the locals and enjoy fresh fish. In the afternoon, head to Hoyo de Pelempito with our French-speaking guide to discover this impressive geological depression in the Sierra de Bahoruco mountain range. Return to the hotel in the evening, with a free night and dinner.
Depart for Laguna de Oviedo, a magnificent lagoon where you can admire flamingos and iguanas on a boat excursion. Our French-speaking guide will accompany you to explain the local flora and fauna. On the way, stop to discover los Pozos, freshwater cenotes. After the lagoon, head to Arroyo Salado for a swim before heading to los Patos for lunch, where you can also swim. Then, head to your ecolodge in the Barahona mountains. Evening and dinner at your leisure at the hotel to enjoy the lodge, its pools, and nature.
A full immersion day awaits you! From your lodge, depart with our 4×4 and French-speaking guide for an excursion in the Sierra de Barohuco to discover the surrounding mountains, local life, and all stages of coffee cultivation and production. You will be close to Dominicans during a lunch at a local’s home, where you will also have the chance to help cook. If you are traveling in the Dominican Republic between January and March, join us for a half-day humpback whale watching excursion as they breed in the Samana Peninsula. Our driver will take you to Samana port, where you will board a human-sized boat to observe the whales with our marine mammal expert guide.
